Our Idaho trip

We did our normal leave after work one night, stay the night in Monticello and then drove the rest of the way on Saturday.

We stopped at Burger in Price, Utah for lunch. Scott and Sterling were grateful to have some time out of their car seats and Scott loved the crown.
The first order of business when we got to Idaho, after saying hi to Grandma and Grandpa and Sam of course, was to set up Stan's new radio he bought. and find out what we could hear.

Scott knows Stan's call sign (most of it anyway) and how to call CQ (how you ask for people to contact you back and chat with you for a minute). "KG5 CQ CQ CQ"
I threw my back out on Monday while jogging and then pulling weeds :( So Stan was super nice and helped with the boys while I rested. He took Scott to a park in town with a super long slide.

And Scott spent some time in the tractor and fields with Grandma and Grandpa. One day he was even lucky enough to ride with Uncle Jerre in the swather.

It was so fun to see Scott play with Grandma Nancy. I snapped this picture one second too late, they were teasing each other and laughing together
The first few days we were there, it was just us. Scott loved the one on one time with Grandma Julie.

Just chillin' in the sun
This boy LOVES playing with water
And this boy LOVES playing with radios
Stan getting ready for his backpacking trip, he had to redo his fishing line and a wig is the natural use for recycled line

Stan and Jimmy left on Thursday early morning for their backpacking trip and with more cousins in town, we really started to party.

Swimming in Grandma and Grandpa's new pool!
Shannon brought Taya over to swim. It was so fun to see them
This boy loved all the attention of having someone to hold him
I LOVE a sleeping baby
These two tended to always want what the other had but there was one moment when Josie and I heard them laughing together. We looked up to see them licking the window and blowing on it. We didn't have the heart to make them stop.

There is always plenty of pie at Grandma's house. I made this one, wasn't the prettiest I've made but it was sure tasty!
The cousins had a little TV time together.
One of the most exciting parts of this trip, besides seeing and being with family of course, was being able to use the radios to talk with Stan and Jimmy while they were backpacking. We could hear each other perfect and it was so fun to hear Stan's voice. It was the first time that I felt so happy to have a general ham radio license :)

Avery and Scott playing on the lawn in the sunrise light
Saturday was a fun day with almost all the family there (everyone minus Stan and Jimmy). The cousins had so much fun playing together. They went from one mess making adventure to the next.

Scott loved Sam...
...and thankfully, Sam loved Scott enough to be patient with him.
There was lots of talking and having fun together.
Scott couldn't keep himself out of the water. He stepped into the kiddie pool with one foot with his sock and tennis shoe on, and then went and played in the dirt. Logically, he needed to get the dirt/mud off of his shoe, so he went and stepped with both shoes in. Next thing I knew...

He was sitting in it!
Oh well! Once he was wet, might as well enjoy it :)
And enjoy it he did!

We LOVE Aunt Kathryn. She is so patient and fun with the kids.
Avery and Sterling and Sam watching Grandpa get the pool ready.

Scott called this whole outfit his "swimsuit". If he didn't have the green part on it wasn't complete :)
A view of the pool against the corn. Mom and Dad did a great job on the pool!
This was Scott's FAVORITE activity. He just wanted to jump and jump and jump. He didn't want help and he did it over and over and over again.
POOL PARTY!!
Stan and Jimmy got back safely (which we were extra grateful for because they had locked the keys in the car. At least they hopped they had because they couldn't find them. They ended up breaking a small window on the car and were able to find them. Phew!) and we all got ready to take family pictures.

Scott, Ashley, Avery, Caroline, Grandma, Sterling, Grandpa, Laura, and Eliza
We sure are growing!
Jaxon brought his drone and took a picture of us from the air.
Scott was done with pictures, but besides that, it was fun :)

Grandpa bought this fun shark for the pool and Scott loved riding it!

These two are SO cute and so matchy match in their outfits

Sunday we had the whole gang there and Jimmy gave Caroline her blessing at church. We came back to the house and had dinner.

These two looked like they were ready for prom or something, Sterling was digging the snazzy ruffles

These two were so funny teasing each other.
Scott was tickling Grandpa
Visiting over ice cream :)
On the way home. Our Corolla sure has put on a lot of miles with all of our adventures. It sure isn't a perfect car but we are grateful for it.

It was so fun to be with everyone and we can't wait for Kevin and Bethany's wedding to be with everyone again!!
