A return to Ruidoso

We loved our fall trip south to Ruidoso so much last year we decided to make it a yearly tradition

Scott loves to find a comfy place and take a breather

And now that the tent is all set. We love our little set up.
Getting ready to warm up our beef stew in the dutch oven and cook some monkey bread!
Plenty of rocks! The boys loved finding ones they thought were cool...

And stuffing them in their shirt pockets
James smiling at Dad

Showing me his "gwubs"

Monkey bread!
We went on a little walk in the morning
I love this. I love how they follow Stan around. And I love that Stan will go get the water. :)
Good morning!
This little river runs along the side of the camp

They love him so much
Love our little helpers
We got all packed up and headed to the mountains.

Stan always makes this face when the road is rough. The highway wasn't really rough but he had to pose :)
3 boys out.
Pretty fall colors as we head into the mountains

We stopped in Ruidoso for our walk up and down the main street to look at the the different shops and do a little shopping (for fudge and red chile pistachios!)

The boys wanted to try out these chairs outside of the store
These cute boys!
We had been promising Scott that he could ride the horse at the end of the road. Surprise it didn't move...whoops. good thing he didn't really care :)
Cute brothers. One always has to have a goofy smile
Or isn't smiling once the other flashes a good one
And then Sterling fell off the horse right after this picture...
We stopped at the candy store to get some fudge. Nothing quite like little kids in a candy store, they wanted one of everything
This picture doesn't even show the full excitement. Maybe this fudge is the reason we went to Ruidoso...maybe not, but maybe.
We asked a lady to take a quick family picture of us before we got back to our car...we don't try for cute anymore, or even all looking, just proof we were together. What a fun trip!
