Idaho Summer 2017

The Friday after getting back to Albuquerque from Emily's wedding, we started up to Idaho. We stopped in Utah to have breakfast with some of our friends there. It was soooooo fun to see them. We know some wonderful people.

We got up to Idaho that afternoon, and got busy playing on the farm.

Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Gerald came over to visit Sunday evening. I love seeing the boys with Grandpa Gerald. They love how he teases them.

Monday was filled with more playing and water fun!

Kevin and Bethany joined us on the 4th of July and celebrated with swimming, food, family, and lots of fun. We are so grateful for the country we live in and the freedoms we enjoy. We are especially grateful for the example of our parents and grandparents in their love and respect for our great country.

Scott's creation. He loved playing with all of Grandma's toys.
We had a little firework show in the front yard. Scott loved the little poppers.

Wednesday, our family party was really getting going as more family came. The boys loved having cousins finally around.

A little Nutella mustache. It's always a treat to get Nutella at Grandma and Grandpa's
Thursday morning started with a celebration of Caroline's 1st birthday before the boys left on a hiking adventure (see a separate post to hear their story):

And then with the boys gone, the rest of us did a lot of "zone defense" to make sure the kids were alive and having a good time. Grandma took all the kids on little rides:

And while others were getting rides...

Here are a few pictures of my boys being silly with some glasses that Josie so kindly gave us:

Post swim time picnic
Every day had a little pool time:

Friday morning began with more cousin fun:

Crafts with cousins
Bethany and Kathryn were super cute and planned for the kids to make superhero outfits together. Here are a few pictures from that adventure:

The boys got home on Friday evening and we were sure glad! Saturday morning started with more yummy food. Sterling really enjoyed it.

We spent some time "working" on the farm with Grandpa, with all girl cousins, the boys got some snazzy hand-me-down pink boots:

Look at that form!

And after the work, comes play!

Sterling LOVED Sam:

Of course we have to have a shout out to Stan's hobby. We were able to talk while they were on their trip so clear and easy with Stan's ingenious creations.

A little book reading with the cousins
We did a quick family photo shoot before church on Sunday
We had such a wonderful time, as we always do. We were just so excited to come back in October and be with everyone again, this time with our new baby!
