So this morning, I looked out the window and what did I see??? SNOOOOOW! And not just a little, like a foot of snow on the ground. It looks like this:If you look close you can see the little buds on the tree that I was so excited to see yesterday. Poor little guys are probably dying of coldness.

And this is the poor bush outside my front door. It looks like it got murdered by snow. Half of it was completely smashed.

Yesterday, when I was wearing my dinky little sweater, I was sweating. But no, not today. There is snow outside. It sure is beautiful though. I love it when the skies are full of luscious beautiful clouds like they have been today. I don't mind one bit that I can stay inside and enjoy the view.
Spring has brought other surprises this year. The last couple months have been crazy, I guess I should say the last year. I think that I keep saying "After ________ is finished, things should calm down finally." First it was my surgery stuff, then it was the fundraiser at work and my vacations, then catch up work from being gone, then a big 20th anniversary party we were throwing at work for Halloween, then the Christmas party, then a combination of taken a 3-credit course in a month/getting ready to be gone for a week at Christmas/catch up from being gone at Christmas/applying to grad school, then there was the the application that I was involved in at work which consisted of writing an 18 page paper about the clinical services we provide at Alpine Valley Care Center (that took about a month and a half and took ALL of my time), then there was the catch up work from that...yep, just one thing after another. Every day brings a new adventure of something that could happen. I always look forward to what can happen.
S0 one surprise I got this spring was the news of not getting into grad school. That was a big bummer. Definitely not what I had expected nor what I wanted, but such is life. I have been reminded of the feelings I felt a year and a half ago when I was laid off and having that which I'd work so hard toward not granted. (here's the link to my post I wrote right after being laid of... http://melssweetlife.blogspot.com/2009/10/my-sweet-life-today.html)
I again feel so lost as to what I am actually supposed to be doing. I get little promptings daily that are leading me somewhere...That will be a fun surprise when I learn what comes next!
Another surprise is that by the end of the year I'm going to be an aunt to three adorable babies! Well...I'm not sure how adorable they will be, but they're my relatives, so they will surely be mostly adorable.
Meridian, Idaho is getting a temple!!!! Though I never "served" in Meridian. it does lie in Great Idaho Boise Mission! Therefore, I'm stoked about it.
Um...I can't think of other surprises that are of large enough note to comment on here. Truly every day is a fun new adventure. I continue to feel the Lord's guidance in my day to day experiences and am only truly happy because of His gospel.
