New Year, New Beginning--There is NO fun like SNOW fun

Stan has been begging me to catch up/skip to the present, so with the new year and being as far behind as I am, I decided it was time to just start where we're at. So the past year has been so fun and good and we love our fun adventures together. The boys are growing and so fun.

The new year started off boring with the stomach flu.  The boys weren't sick at the beginning of the week though and they had a blast with snow.

I looked out the kitchen window to see this sweet sight.

Love watching kids love snow

James got the stomach flu in the middle of one night and so I had to give him a bath in the middle of the night. In the middle, I went into the bedroom for  a few minutes to have Scott come and tell me James was in the toilet. He plays in the toilets ALL the time (GROSS!), but when I walked in, he was literally sitting IN the toilet! Yuck! Bath numbero dos all before 7:30am.

So the first Saturday, January 5th, we headed up to the Santa Fe area to play in the snow we received during the holidays. The day was off to a rough start when Scott announced that he had locked their bedroom door. It is the only door in the house that has a lock that requires a key key to unlock it. The key of which no one in the world knows where it is. So after watching many lock picking videos and trying to pick it, we gave in and Stan drilled the lock out. James' now appreciates that he can open his door through the door knob hole.

On our drive up the highway, the Jeep got a flat tire, a blow out really, and then we felt like we ought to make sure the tires were well aired. An hour later we were all set and on our way up the mountain. The snow was perfect and beautiful. We had a great time making a snowman, throwing snow, and sledding. We love adventures with our boys!

All three boys on the sled only lasted a minute because they were heavy! But it was cute while it lasted.

Our snowman. We didn't spend much time making him, and he wasn't alive for long. On our way back to the car, Scott saw someone else building some that they had been working on for a long time, perfect balls for the body, tall, they were legit. Scott said "Wow! Those are LOTS better than ours!" :)
But the boys loved our little guy and wanted to give him a hug

Scott pulled Stan (With Stan pushing himself with his feet)
The boys made snow angels
James didn't want to ride in the sled, but he sure is a cutie in his snow outfit.
We found a hill to sled down and the boys loved it! I love zooming in and seeing the joy on their faces in these pictures

James didn't seem to like or dislike it
Stan and I went down together, as we started out, the sled was heading straight for James!
But with some maneuvering we were able to avoid him, phew!

We dropped a glove somewhere so Stan went back to find it. We kept hiking toward the car and Stan caught up by sledding down like this :)
James didn't appreciate the ride home but at least the hat kept him entertained for a few minutes.

We got home without any problem, yay! It was a grand adventure

For our dessert Sunday we made scones. They turned out deliciously and will definitely be made again! We had a wonderful first week of the year!
