Uncle Kevin's Wedding! (trip to Utah)

We were so excited to go to Utah and see family, especially to see Kevin get married. Normally when we go to Utah, we will drive to Monticello after Stan gets off work, stay the night there, and then drive the last bit first thing in the morning. Since we knew festivities weren't going to start until later on Friday, we decided to be a little crazy...

We made reservations for a hotel in Price, Utah and got there about 10pm. We got up and out quick and headed on an all day adventure to see if we could catch any of the beautiful fall colors of Utah that we love and miss so much.

Coming up Highway 6 we took the Diamond Fork exit and just drove. Eventually that road leads to the left fork of Hobble Creek Canyon. From there we took a road that led us up to the point that Stan proposed to me at. After a short stop there, we decided to drive all of Squaw Peak Road over to Provo Canyon and down on into Provo from there. Woo! It was amazing and so fun! The colors weren't 100%, but we were able to see some beautiful spots!

I had to include this picture even though I look ridiculous. I don't know how people are so good at making cute jumping pictures...obviously not my thing.

We got to the spot where it was a short (but so so steep) hike to the peak where Stan proposed. We haven't had a chance to go back since he did. It was fun to see some of the same colors and to take the boys up there. Scott learned the definition of steep (and uses it still now) but he loved to hike by himself some.

Stan was so cute hiking with Scott. They walked through the snow and Scott thought it was the coolest thing to leave his footprint.

I love that this happened 4 years ago. I surprised Stan with some Martinelli's. When he proposed, Stan had a Martinelli but our party got interrupted by some people so we never drank them up there.

The rest of the ride was fun and we got to see some more beautiful yellow, orange, and even some red!

Stan was loving the view, the sun, and just the beautiful day all put together. I love his love for the outdoors!

We stopped for milanesa sandwiches from an Argentine bakery just like we had on the day we got engaged and then Stan dropped me off for a haircut. It was the perfect morning and such a dream. Scott and Stan headed to BYU campus to pick something up, see my brother Jeff for a minute, and get some ice cream. Scott still talks about going to "BIU". We headed to Larry and Kathryn's, the best hosts, and got settled and then ready for the reception that evening.

We LOVED having Uncle Kevin living with us this summer and had missed him the last couple months.

Sterling decided to spit up ALL down my dress, and that was a cue to leave. We headed home to get the boys in bed but first a visit from Jeff, Jessie, and Danny! My dress took two washes to get the smell out...yuck!!

The wedding was so beautiful the next morning. It is always amazing to me the Spirit that is present during an ordinance. The counsel the sealer was beautiful, I love the simplicity and the power of the gospel, but the minute he began the actual ordinance, a powerful Spirit entered the room. The reality of eternal families was testified of that morning.

An extra special part of the day was being able to see my dear, wonderful friend Sharla. She had a free moment in her day and met up with us while we took pictures at the temple. I just adore her and seeing her was a sweet, tender mercy.

We went and put the kids down for naps and then headed for an incredible child-less and delicious luncheon at Magleby's. There was some confusion at the restaurant about the set-up we wanted, but once we got that figured out, everything turned out just fine and everything was wonderful!

Lunch without kids and fun family is so fun!

It was a wonderful weekend! Stan got sick that evening though and was so sick all the way home the next day but it was still worth it. I love my family!
