Visit from Grandpa Ray and Grandma Julie

Stan's parents stayed for a few days after Scott's birthday and we had a great time! After German Pancakes on Friday morning...well it's been so long since then I don't remember the specifics, which is why you shouldn't wait two months to blog, but I do remember that that day we went to a museum down on UNM campus:

Scott hanging out on Grandpa's lap before we left
Walking into the museum, he was loving the attention :)
The boys with the pottery, as you can tell Scott found the museum to be exhilarating
I love the smiles in this picture, too bad it's blurry!
Because Scott didn't quite love the exhibits as much as his dad and grandpa, Mom and I took him outside to look at the dandelions and sticks :)
Other events of the day included fixing the last bit of our explorer. Stan and Dad were the handy mechanics. We were so grateful for his help, me especially because if he weren't here it would have been me out there on the floor :)

Our ward was having an elder's quorum activity, so Mom and Dad were super nice and watched Scott while we went to that for a little bit. Scott loved playing with them and showed them ALL of his toys.

Saturday morning we headed up on a little adventure to Bandelier National Monument.

We started with a little picnic
Bandelier is a really neat place with some cool ruins. I like that we could climb up into them.

While there are some petroglyphs at this park, the ones in the black paint might be a little more recent than the Indians...

Scott wasn't super fond of riding this day. He was so happy to be walking for a minute. He still wasn't super stable walking on his own yet
Stan and I had been to the Monument before, but there was part of it that was closed at the time. It was open when we went in March and because of the long ladders that had to be climbed to get to it, we traded of with Mom and Dad staying with Scott while the others went.

My view looking down at Stan
Stan's view looking up at me
Looking up the canyon from where the ruin is. Storm was coming!
The kiva was the only structure really still up there and that had mostly been reconstructed. Would have been so neat to see what this looked like in the days it was really used.

Scott didn't mind waiting at the bottom because he got to play in the dirt and with sticks!
The creek that rain along the bottom of the canyon the ruin is located in.
A boy with his stick is always happy
We stopped by the Mormon Battalion Monument on the way home. Pardon my finger, I was hurrying to take a shot before it poured down on us!
We loved having them come visit! Sunday was spent just visiting and going for a nice walk. They had to leave Monday.

Scott loved visiting with Grandpa while he did his stretches every morning. He would just kneel next to him and talk to him.
While we were at the mission prep class we help teach, Mom and Dad hung out with Scott.
We are so grateful for Mom and Dad and their support!
