Petroglyphs and San Lorenzo Canyon

We have been meaning to schedule a tour for some time now to go and see some petroglyphs near a national ruin site. November 19 was the day. There was quite an amazing panel and stretch of petroglyphs.

Our tour guide said that sometimes they would use natural changes in the rock to enhance their work. Multi-dimensional rock faces!

Our guide promised to show us a new thing they had found near the site and took us to an area an said to look for a circle in a rock. We found it! And quite a few other etchings nearby:

She said this was a game of sorts kind of like Parcheesi

We took a drive on a "Scenic Byway"...a little different than scenic byways in Utah or Idaho...

And we head to a neat Slot Canyon on the way back to Albuquerque. My cute companions:

Scott loves to climb to the top of things. He wanted to get to "my cave"

I asked Scott to look at me and he quit climbing and started to slide down saying "ahhh!"

So proud of his climbing job.

We found this orange and black, very furry caterpillar and Scott thought it was the funniest thing.
