And again, more petroglyphs

We decided to give the petroglyphs one last try. Kevin was with us and we enjoyed having his company. We went to a little different place than our other searches. And still didn't find the specific ones we were looking for but found other fun things yet again :)

Sterling all tucked in and ready to go

Our first little canyon to check out.
This looks like it would be a good place for a dwelling but didn't find any definitive proof
Check out that aspen's durability. And Kevin's climbing skills (he didn't climb up the aspen but where he did climb was tricky)
This cute boy loves the outdoors and sticks
Picking our way back up the side
We all are not monkeys like Kevin.

So patient
New Mexico mesa tops
Well Sterling was asleep and Scott said he didn't want to hike, so I stayed in the car with the boys for the next two stops and Kevin and Stan ventured out. I can't say much about their findings because I can only guess what they were like you can looking at them :)

Happy boy to be playing instead of hiking.

We headed to a place we have been a couple of times to see if we could find some other petroglyphs, a bunch of birds painted on the top of a cove and to eat dinner. Success on both parts!

This boy is so good at sharing with his brother
The turkey vultures were circling. Not sure if they were expecting us to become dinner or what
Scott called this big rock his house. He wanted to go inside a slit in the side he called the door. I wouldn't let him...
 Then the boys got adventurous.

If you look close, you can maybe see Stan and Kevin climbing up that cliff side.
Some petroglyphs!!!
Sterling waking up from his nap :)
Kevin caught some wildlife.
Kevin climbed up on top of the cliff and got a view of the canyon from above.

A small cave they found on the cliff side.
And even farther up the the cliff
On the way home
 A great day!
