Scott's birthday #2

Scott's birthday was on a Saturday so it was fun to be together all of us all day long.

Traditional Birthday Breakfast. German Pancakes and presents on the ready!
Scott did not want to take a picture...
Stan making Scott laugh, he is SO good at that
We opened Scott's presents right after breakfast and they were fun ones :) Lots of books and a toy truck from Grandma and Grandpa Merrill, a set of dinosaur stickers from Grandma Julie and Grandpa Ray, a tool set, and a bike/helmet.

He wanted to use the helmet right away and wore it for a bit while helping Stan in the backyard.

He got to work fixing things with his tool set.

I made this dinosaur cake and was pretty proud of my first attempt at cake making/decorating. I learned lots and will for sure do a few things different next time :)
An attempt at getting a brothers picture on his birthday...fail:

We decided we were going to do dinner up the canyon and so we did cake right after lunch. He was so excited about eating the dinosaur.

He had a little trouble with the candle blowing but with some help from Stan we got them blown out without getting the cake socking wet from spit... :)
We have a favorite picnicking spot behind the mountains and we headed there for a nice BBQ.

Always lots of teasing between these two.

They went for a little hike to find the moon. Scott wanted to jump and touch it.

Proof that Sterling was with us
Trying out the bike when we got back. He still can't quite propel the pedals on his own, gotta work on those quads :) but he does love getting on it
He got these turtle pajamas and LOVES them. He was dancing around the room with excitement about them (the truck behind him is the one he got from Grandma and Grandpa, he loves it)
After I got Scott in bed, I came into the kitchen to find the remains of the dinosaur cake looking like this. I asked Stan about it and he said he had come in from outside right before Scott went to bed and found him on top of a chair, that he must have pushed to the counter, shoving handfuls of cake into his mouth. It was his birthday so Stan let him continue :) I probably would have too :)

We love our Scotty boy. He is so funny, helpful, and a good brother. He LOVES to eat and will sometimes eat more than I do. A few funny stories from the last many months:

Whenever he does something he shouldn't or makes a big mess, I usually sigh "oh son". When Ray and Julie were in town we took Scott with us to Lowe's. We had stepped away from the cart and Scott was sitting in it holding the paint brochure. I heard him say "Oh son" and turned to see that he had ripped the brochure. :)

He says "blowning" for blowing. One day as we were walking from the car into the church, the wind was blowing very hard. He grabbed his tie and put a hand on his hair and started to run and cry "No blowning in the wind! oh no!"

When he wanted me to hold him, "hold you".

For his birthday I would ask him what he wanted and he would always say green toys and a green cake.

If he tries something or tries to play with something but it doesn't work out, he will just say "no work mom." Example: I'll ask him to put a toy away and he can't quite get it. He will run back to me and say "no work"

Whenever he goes in the other room for minute, he will turn and say to me "be back mom!"

He says "Whoopsdy" for whoops.

He will squeeze into little spots on the couch or my lap saying "Room/Spot for me Mom?"

He calls the kitchen the "chicken". It kills me when talks about eating something on the chicken floor and that he wants to go to the chicken.

He says he is going to do something (get a toy, get something from the other room, etc) "so faster"

A parrot is a "Caw"

He will randomly say "So proud of you Mom"....thanks Scott :)

And one of the top things he asks is "What doing there?"

What a sweet, sweet boy we have!!!
